Flower U-Pick Garden Hours
Flower U-Pick is open every day 8am-6pm from mid July through mid October
Exact start date is announced on email, Instagram and Facebook. There is ample parking and the u-pick is self-serve with easy instructions and supplies at the the kiosk near the upick garden entrance.

We hear from customers how much they needed a little down time and a chance to pause and enjoy nature. We want our famr friends to be able to disconnect from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with Nature in a little oasis in the City. We suggest allowing 45 minutes to an hour to soak in the flower farm experience.
Welcome to our Farm
Hello, we’re Bree & Rich Woodbridge, and these are our daughters – the farm’s 7th generation!
After eight seasons of growing vegetables, flowers, and fruit for our CSA farm share members, including a big U-pick garden, we decided to focus even more on what we love most: flowers.
Now, we offer a bountiful flower U-pick garden that’s open to everyone! It brings us so much joy to see our farm guests light up among the blooms we grow naturally, organically, and chemical-free.
We grow more than two dozen varieties of flowers, and you are invited to join in the fun at our U-pick garden this season.

Good to Know Before Your Visit
- Sometimes, Mother Nature can make our garden soggy and slippery. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear.
- Sunglasses, water bottles, hats, and sunscreen can make our sunny garden a lot more enjoyable.
- Some people prefer to wear gloves as a few plants might have scratchy leaves and sap.
- We welcome you to take photos of the flowers and your experience on the farm to share with your friends. #mccollumorchards
- We love animals, but we do not allow pets on our farm. This is for the safety of our crops, 4H Show Poultry, and your pets.
- Children are welcome! It’s a great activity for kids and families and out of town guests! Please supervise children at all times; this is a working farm.
- We no longer have the CSA or a vegetable farmstand.
- We do not offer apple upick.
Pricing
We offer two cup sizes
We don’t want to take away from your experience on the farm by counting the stems you have. So, we just charge by the cup size. TIP: Strip the bottom leaves off the stems, so you can fit more stems into your cup! If you have questions we are happy to help.
We accept cash, Venmo and credit card for U-Pick.
Large $30
32 oz cup is included in the price and is yours to keep. Fits approximately 50 stems. Perfect for making 2-3 bouquets around your home or to gift someone special
Regular $20
22 oz cup is included in the price and is yours to keep. Fits approximately 25 stems per cup and makes this a wonderful way to sprinkle flowers throughout your home!
Large Event Bucket $75
Large Bucket is perfect for DIY brides, graduations, reunions, parties, and event planners who need a lot of flowers at once. Cant fit more than 100 stems.
Returning Discount $10 off
$10 discount on both types of cups for when you reuse your already purchased cup for the season!
How to Get to the Farm
- Follow your GPS map directions to 248 N. Adam Street, Lockport
- Our farm is located on a neighborhood street in Lowertown Lockport.
- The farm entrance is located on the corner of North and North Adam streets, north of the stone Carriage House.
- The parking lot is to the left of the entrance
- PLEASE exit at the far end of the parking lot. It has much better visibility both ways on the street and is much safer for pulling out onto North Adam street.
Upon Arrival
- Park in the parking lot and head to the white tent for check-in.
- Choose which size of cup you want to pick into. We provide the cups in two sizes. You just cut and fill your cup, no need to keep count of the stems. TIP: Strip the bottom leaves so that you can fit more stems in your cup!
- Fill your container 1/3 full with water and two pumps of complimentary flower food at the kiosk.
- We provide scissors, both lefties and righties. You are welcome to bring your own snips, that might work on the larger sunflowers.
- Time to start cutting flowers! Read the signs for each variety to learn how to cut the stems properly and which flowers are ready to cut. (The Wiggle Test!)
- Most people spend about 45 minutes – one hour on the farm. The garden will close at 6pm every day.
When You Get Home
- DON’T leave your flowers in a hot car and DO try to keep them out of direct sunlight.
- We have all smelled the old flower vase water. Just rinsing the vase out before the next use is not good enough. The most important thing to keep your flowers fresh is starting with a clean vase or jar at home. Using hot soapy water or even a drop of bleach to clean it after each use is super important. Bacteria in the water clog the stems’ ability to take up water and will drastically reduce the flowers’ vase life.
- Give the stems a fresh cut at a 45-degree angle before putting them in the clean vase(s) at home. This maximizes the surface area for water uptake.
- Be sure there are no leaves below the water line in the vase. This will cause the water to build bacteria quickly.
- We recommend changing out vase water every 3 days, pulling out tired blooms, and giving the stems a fresh cut on the bottom to keep flowers fresh for 1-2 weeks.
- Keeping the flowers away from direct sunlight will extend vase life.
How Long Will the Flower U-Pick Be Open?
We say ‘from now until first frost.’ Who knows when that will be? Usually through the second week of October. Our goal is to stay open as long as possible for you to enjoy our flower u-pick, especially those late season dahlias. We look forward to seeing you at the farm this season!
Reserve a Private Flower U-Pick Party
We welcome private flower picking for your group of 5 or more! You can book a private pick on any day of the week, anytime 8am-6pm. We will set out the long tables for you to use for BYO meals and provide a discount on group flower u-pick cups. Just email us at mccollumorchards@gmail.com to arrange a private picking party.
Photography Sessions
A beautiful place to capture the season
Over the past few years, our flower field has become a favorite setting for senior portraits, engagement, wedding, baby and family photos, and creative sessions. We offer photographers the use of our flower field and the entire farm and lawn surrounding the house. There are many unique settings from historic canal stone walls, wrought iron fences, picturesque flower vistas, rustic barns and lush tree-lined landscapes.
